SRFC Volunteers

Overview

In order to receive your $125 volunteer deposit back, you must volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours during 2017.  When completing the registration process, please select jobs that interest you. Please select a number of volunteer jobs that interest you to make sure you get a chance to volunteer. Only selecting one option, limits the number of emails and opportunities you will have to volunteer.  You will then be added to the email distribution list for those specific jobs. You will receive emails when volunteers are needed and be given an opportunity to work a 4 hour shift.

You must complete your volunteer hours in 2017 to qualify for a refund for the current season.

The only volunteer hours that are team specific are – Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager/Parent or Team Treasurer (competitive or select only). All other volunteer hours must be devoted to club events or activities.  These refunds will be issued at the end of the season by December 31.  The head coach or manager will turn in a form for the entire team at the end of the season.  The office manager will send the required form to recreational / select coaches and competitive team managers in November to complete and return.

The volunteer deposit is only collected once per family, so you will only receive back one volunteer refund per family.

We do not collect a volunteer deposit for the U5-6 age groups, so refunds are not issued for coaches and team parents for these age groups.  However, if you coach or manage a U5/U6 team and paid the volunteer deposit for an older child, you qualify to get that deposit back.  Please complete the volunteer reimbursement form at the end of the season and return to the SRFC Office Manager for reimbursement.

Head Coaches for recreational (U8-U19) and select receive the following refund as a small thank you for all the time and effort devoted to the team:

  • Volunteer deposit - $125* 
  • Partial reimbursement of registration fee - $150 
  • Total end of season refund - $275

Assistant Coaches for recreational (U8-U19) and select receive (only one assistant per team):

  • Volunteer deposit - $125*
  • Partial reimbursement of registration fee - $75
  • Total end of season refund - $200

*Only one Volunteer deposit refunded per family.  All fees are reimbursed at the end of the season

One Head Coach for recreational (U7) teams will receive the following refund as a small thank you for coaching games.  U7 teams receive training from paid staff:

  • Volunteer deposit - $125* 

Volunteer Refund Process

All requests for a refund must be submitted on a completed Volunteer Form filled out with the first and last name of the player.  The volunteer form must be signed by the event coordinator, BOD member or office manager. Volunteer refunds will be processed 3 times per year. All refunds are issued by refunding the credit card you used when you registered. Checks will only be issued by special request. The turnaround time for your refund will be as per the following schedule:

  • for volunteer time done Jan 1st  – Apr 30th, 
    must submit form by May 5th and refund will be processed by May 31st 
  • for volunteer time done May 1st – Aug 31th, 
    must submit form by Sep 5th and refund will be processed by Sep 30th
  • for volunteer time done Sep 1st – Dec 1st, 
    must submit form by Dec. 15th and refund will be processed by Dec 31st
